#1 Gigantoraptor
Gigantoraptor is voted the first most gentle dinosaurs with 368 votes.
Gigantoraptor
Gigantoraptor is a genus of giant oviraptorosaurian theropod dinosaur. It was clear to Xu et al. that Gigantoraptor belonged to the Oviraptorosauria, a group named after Oviraptor, but compared to other known members, Gigantoraptor was much larger, approximately three times as long and 35 times more massive than the heaviest earlier discovered oviraptorosaurid Citipati. Xu et al.
#2 Erectopus
Erectopus is voted the second most gentle dinosaurs with 205 votes.
Erectopus
Erectopus is a basal allosauroid theropod from the Lower Cretaceous of France. The etymology of Erectopus is based on the structure of the foot (Latin erectus = "upright" + Greek pous = "foot"). The specific name superbus means "proud" in Latin.
#3 Gasparinisaura
Gasparinisaura is voted the third most gentle dinosaurs with 194 votes.
Gasparinisaura
Gasparinisaura (meaning "Gasparini's lizard") is a genus of herbivorous ornithopod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous. The first fossils of Gasparinisaura were in 1992 found in Argentina, near Cinco Saltos in Río Negro Province. The type species, Gasparinisaura cincosaltensis, was named and described in 1996 by Rodolfo Coria and Leonardo Salgado.
#4 Kimmerosaurus
Kimmerosaurus is voted the fourth most gentle dinosaurs with 189 votes.
Kimmerosaurus
Kimmerosaurus ("lizard from Kimmeridge") is an extinct genus of plesiosaur from the family Cryptoclididae, closely related to Tatenectes. As Kimmerosaurus is known from only a skull (and a few cervical vertebrae), much of the plesiosaur's description comes from its teeth, which are recurved and buccolingually compressed (compressed cheek-side to tongue-side). The premaxilla has only eight teeth, while there are thirty-six teeth on each ramus.
#5 Phyllodon
Phyllodon is voted the fifth most gentle dinosaurs with 182 votes.
Phyllodon
Phyllodon (meaning "leaf tooth") was a genus of small ornithischian dinosaur from the Kimmeridgian-age Upper Jurassic Guimarota Formation of Leiria, Portugal. It may have been closely related to contemporaneous dinosaurs in North America. This genus is known from teeth and possibly partial lower jaws.
#6 Mauisaurus
Mauisaurus is voted the sixth most gentle dinosaurs with 178 votes.
Mauisaurus
Mauisaurus ("Maui reptile") is a genus of plesiosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period around 77 million years ago in what is now New Zealand. It was the largest plesiosaur, and perhaps the largest marine reptile in New Zealand waters at the time. Numerous specimens have been attributed to this genus in the past, but a 2017 paper restricts Mauisaurus to the lectotype and declares it dubious. At 68 cervical vertebrae, Mauisaurus is notable for having one of the longest necks (in terms of vertebra number) of any plesiosaur.
#7 Eotyrannus
Eotyrannus is voted the seventh most gentle dinosaurs with 176 votes.
Eotyrannus
Eotyrannus (meaning "dawn tyrant") is a genus of tyrannosauroid theropod dinosaur hailing from the Early Cretaceous Wessex Formation beds, included in Wealden Group, located in the southwest coast of the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom. The remains (MIWG1997.550), consisting of assorted skull, axial skeleton and appendicular skeleton elements, from a juvenile or subadult, found in a plant debris clay bed, were described by Hutt et al. in early 2001.
